About Us

Discussions at a public meeting in Kentish Town Library in 1980 became a problem solving exercise that resulted in the setting up of Camden Black Parents & Teachers Association (CBPTA). CBPTA now more widely known as The CarAf Centre specializes in supporting disadvantaged children and young people by providing educational, emotional and Behavioral support to children and their families.

The Vision

To enhance the life skills and chances of the Black Minority Ethnic and disadvantage child in an equal, caring, multi-cultural and meritocratic society.

Our Mission Statement

To provide first class educational, social and cultural activities for Black & Minority Ethnic and disadvantage parents, young people and children in order to create an equal, caring, multi-cultural and meritocratic society.

Our Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the CBPTA is to contribute to the effective delivery of educational programmes by informing policy development, facilitating effective linkages of partners and implementing support programmes in order to improve the life skills and chances of Black & Minority Ethnic and disadvantage communities.
