Why Fundraise for us?
Do you have a great idea? Or maybe you can’t decide what to do? Don’t worry, there are so many ways you can fundraise for us and we’re here to give you any help you need. - We have lots of fundraising tips for you
- Put the f-u-n into your fundraising
Make your fundraising as much fun as possible. People are more likely to get involved if you have something to offer in return which is enjoyable.
- Make a list of who to ask for sponsorship
Start with friends and family then ask work colleagues or neighbours for support.
- Carry sponsor forms everywhere you go
Take advantage of every opportunity!
- Post a message on your work intranet
Ask your boss if you can post a message about your fundraising event on the intranet.
- Get everyone involved
Tell everyone what you’re doing and give updates on your progress, especially if they have donated.
- Ask your company to match what you raise
Many companies have a matched giving scheme - allowing you to double what you have raised!
- Use publicity
If you are organising a local event that may be of public interest or something out of the ordinary, contact your local paper, radio or TV station.
- Write “ask” letters
Write to local companies asking for a direct donation, or if they might offer to donate a prize for a raffle or auction at your event.
- Keep records
Keep records of everyone who has donated as well as those who have pledged and have yet to donate.
- Signature-email and phone
You may want to include a message under your email signature or on your answer phone asking for support.
- Birthday or anniversary donations
Ask for donations instead of gifts.
- Thank your donors
Always remember to thank everyone who has contributed to your fundraising.
