Online Black History Resources
The British Museum in collaboration with The CarAf Centre have launched an on-line Black history resource. The resources are primarily aimed at the Key Stage 3 module on the development of trade, colonisation, industrialisation and technology, especially the defined sections on African Civilisations, the Slave Trade, and the British Empire. However they can also be used to teach different Key Stages and age groups, and a broader range of topics, including Diversity and Black History.
The resource consists of:
- Teachers Notes: providing background information as well as reading lists and a specimen lesson plan.
- Student Work Sheets: which can be used as part of normal teaching or as homework.
- Presentations: which give an introduction and an overview to the section, which is suitable for whole class teaching.
